MOTHERS DAY - acknowledging the importance of Mothers

Delicious food and a sensational autumn morning, complemented by laughter and chatter, certainly set the mood for our Mothers' Day breakfast. Yesterday's gathering of mums and other community members was a joyous occasion which reminded us all of the importance of family.

Thankfully our sound system was working efficiently, as I had little chance of being heard, or even noticed; such was the engagement of the community who joined together at the front of the school. My few words to remark on the important role of mothers and grandmothers, along with the acknowledgement that some people will be reminded of missed loved ones on Mothers' Day, was followed by enthusiastic singing by our choir, and the raffle draw for the creative flower arrangements that added a stylish touch to our breakfast table.

The opening of the Primary Classrooms that followed, provided mums and others the opportunity to explore the work being done by their children in the Montessori classrooms. The pride was obvious as children explained, and even taught the adults, about their acquired knowledge and skills in using the Montessori materials.

I thank everyone who assisted the school in making the morning such a joyful experience.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
